    Jeffrey Witwer, VMD attended the University of Pennsylvania Veterinarian School and graduated in 1976.  He started South Carolina Equine Associates in 1994.  Dr. Witwer's areas of interests are lameness and performance horse care.  In his spare time he enjoys gardening.

  • Nicole Swinehart, DVM

    Nicole Swinehart, DVM

    Dr. Nicole Swinehart joined South Carolina Equine Associates, INC in the summer of 1999. She is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio where she completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Miami University in 1994.  From there, she pursued her degree in Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University finishing in 1998.  Pursuing her interests in equids, Nicole continued on with an Equine Medicine and Surgery Internship at the Marion DuPont Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, Virginia. Her main areas of interest are acupuncture, western horse performance, horse lameness, and sports medicine. She began riding hunter/jumpers at the age of eight years old and continues this passion today on her ex-steeplechaser Eluded.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Chris Cutler and their six year old daughter Coker on their 60-acre farm in Boykin, SC.

    Nicole Cunningham, BVSc, MRCVS

    Nicole Cunningham, BVSc, MRCVS, attended Liverpool University and graduated in 2010.  She joined South Carolina Equine Associates in 2003.  In
    2010 Dr. Cunningham became certified in Equine Chiropractic.  Her main areas of interest are Reproduction, Bio-Mechanics, and a whole horse approach.  She enjoys riding with her son Cullen in her spare time.

  • Magda Wylie, DVM

    Magda Wylie, DVM

    Dr. Wylie was born and raised in Altlanta, Georgia, where she began riding at the age of 7.  She graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Biology in 2000 before recieving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2005.  After completing a year long equine intership at The University of Missouri, she joined South Carolina Equine Associates in August of 2006.  She also serves as veterinary advisor to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation Board and is on the Clemson Veterinary Diagnostic Center's advisory committe.  Dr. Wylie lives in Camden with her husband, who is a small animal veterinarian, and their 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 horse.  In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, and running, in addition to riding and horse showing, of course!

  • Ashley Hamilton, DVM

    Ashley Hamilton, DVM

    Ashley is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida where she grew up riding horses as a 3rd generation equestrian. She continued that passion in college as the captain of the University of Florida Equestrian Team. After completing undergraduate degrees in Spanish and Animal Science, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UF in 2010. Following graduation she completed a one year internship in medicine and surgery at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She then traveled to The Piedmont Equine Practice for a one year fellowship in Sports Medicine and Surgery and is now excited to be joining South Carolina Equine Associates. Her primary professional interests are sports medicine, lameness and preventative medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys riding, running, Gator football and spending time with her Boxer dog.

    Alicia Cook

    Alicia began working at South Carolina Equine Associates, Inc in 2006.  She grew up in Lugoff, SC and graduated from Lugoff Elgin High School.  Alicia holds a degree in Computer Administative Specialties.  She resides in Camden with her husband Eric, daughter Hailey and their chocolate lab Charlie.

    Aimee Arrants

    Aimee is the newest member of our staff. She joined the practice in November of 2011. Aimee graduated with a degree in Natural Resources Management in 2003. Her duties include ordering all prescription medications, medicine compounding, and general office procedures.  Aimee lives in Camden with her husband Josh and their three dogs; a Lab named Sharpie and two Great Danes named Anderson and Gus.  In her spare time she enjoys gardening, reading, and running.
